Chris Sittig at First Home Mortgage is phenomenal. As a young man in my mid 20s, I was completely naive to the entire process of securing a mortgage as the only information I could ascertain came from online sources. In 2018 I moved to Columbia, MD and I figured I’d at least educate myself on the home buying process. I nervously walked into First Home Mortgage and spoke to Chris for the first time – and he was extremely professional, very polite and courteous, and patient with me as he explained the home buying and mortgage process. We took a look at a few mortgage products out there and he found a great mortgage program offered by the state of Maryland that could also payoff my student loans. I left knowing way more than I thought I would learn and I had a game plan set: increase my credit score and save money. Fast forward two years later- it’s now 2020, and I’m ready to start the home buying process. Chris remembered me and we spoke again in lengths regarding pulling my credit score, the price point of a home, mortgage costs, and closings costs, as well as areas where I could feasibly purchase my home. I also needed a realtor, and Chris referred me to Troy Fitzgerald – who was also phenomenal. As the days came closer and I was ready to make an offer, Chris was always there even during his vacation and time away from home to read my emails and give me a call running up numbers for me. It was amazing. I never expected this kind of fast communication, and I knew Chris had my back throughout the entire process. First Home was also great during the closing process – there was swift communication about documents that I needed to send over (specifically Amanda Chronister who handled this for me- thank you very much as well)! Overall it was a great experience and I’m very happy with choosing First Home and specifically being able to work with Chris. If I ever buy another property in the future I know exactly who to reach out to! I will never forget Chris and First Home. Thank you very much for everything.
